Getting the marriage and diploannexing them would normally be a piece of cake, save for the fact that Shawnee is (presumably) pagan. Either get them to convert, or find another way.

Diploannexation requires a Royal Marriage, which cannot be obtained with Shawnee (unless by some miracle they convert to Christianity.)

The ships take damage (attrition) the longer they are out in sea without being in port. Get them to a port (province, colony) pronto or you'll lose the ships. Best bet is to send out groups of 5-10 ships until you discover a province, set up a colony, bring troops (in case of natives), and use...
