    why go for the sides? Aim for the top, bigger target with a mortar's angle of approach and even less armor!

    That is how both m3 lee and m4 sherman came to be. They wanted a 75mm gun in a turret, but didnt have a turret capable of it. Because of that they made the m3 as a stopgap, as soon as the turret design was done they switched to that.

    I assume this vehicle to be fake, if for no other reason than that with the current layout, the spaces for the driver and the turret crew overlap.
