  1. A Better Rifle at Halloween

The interesting thing is if he survives how this will change him. From a nightmare royal to a hero possibly?
  2. Malaya What If

Just to say thanks for this well researched and enthralling TL. The build up has been great, now the consequences will begin, and I can’t wait!
  3. A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

    Great to see this back.
  4. Keynes' Cruisers Volume 2

Truly epic and a real pleasure. I will miss this - so many thanks for your efforts and the enjoyment you’ve given to many of us.
  5. Sir John Valentine Carden Survives. Part 2.

Hope you’re feeling better ! I appreciate your writing, but real life comes first.
  6. Earliest possible Kingdom of Great Britain?

Aethelstan (924) was potentially the earliest ruler who had authority over the mainland UK after defeating the Scot’s and Welsh and having them acknowledge him as ruler of the whole island. He confirmed this at Brunanburh when he defeated a Scot’s / Viking army. He died without issue and quite...
  7. A Better Rifle at Halloween

I stand corrected! That’s what I like about this site - the staggering amount of knowledge that folk bring to bear on almost every facet of life.
  8. A Better Rifle at Halloween

Just a small point and I’m prepared to be corrected but I’m pretty sure baked beans weren’t a thing in the UK at that point.
  9. January Books from SFP

Thanks. Just ordered the nitpickers guide!
  10. Malaya What If

Yes. But losing to the allies vs the soviets alone is a fairly significant difference.
  11. Malaya What If

Except ensure the Nazis were beaten may possibly have been a benefit to the UK and humanity as a whole? Especially ensuring it was a victory that didn’t involve the Red Army occupying what was left of Europe.
  12. A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

Whenever you’re ready! I really appreciate the work you have put into this.
  13. WI Indira Gandhi's assassination takes place in the evening when she meets with Princess Anne, resulting in Anne being shot but not killed

Given the IRA at this point was completely penetrated by the security forces can’t see that as a major worry, and that given the Sikh community in the UK has never been a particularly political one so active terrorists are likely to be a very small group I just can’t see this becoming an issue...
  14. WI Indira Gandhi's assassination takes place in the evening when she meets with Princess Anne, resulting in Anne being shot but not killed

Honestly no. Some far right nutters would - the NF and BNP were still a thing then . But Anne isn’t the Queen, wasn’t killed and it wouldn’t have been that big a thing. There could have been more cooperation between the UK and India as a result in a number of areas, and it may well have helped...
  15. Military equipment during a continuous Cold War

The Last War timeline by @Bernard Woolley on the BigOne website has quite a bit on weapons in use as a later Cold War turns hot. and it’s an awesome read - although some of the earlier bits are missing.
  16. A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

Delighted to see you’re at least on the up slope and I hope things continue to improve. Excellent update again to what is a truly excellent TL.
  17. Culture of a world where WW1 was averted

I think one of the largest changes would be religion maintaining a much more central place in the culture. Parts of the UK we’re going through a major nonconformist growth phase with mass conversions in areas such as the mining and industrial north prior to the war, and this was obviously...
  18. A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

Please take all the time you need and I sincerely hope things improve for you. Perhaps a quote in the spirit of your TL - when you’re going through hell, keep going. Best wishes on things improving.
