Port Arthur could be a nice goal I guess.
  3. A Frozen Spring (relaunched version)

I'm happy to see this timeline alive again. It was a long time since I read it, and lately I find that I have a hard time finding the time and mood for reading updates on timelines in general. That being said, I will try to find time to re-read this timeline, which I remember as engaging and...
  4. The March of Time - 20th Century History

If I remember correctly Sweden started with immigration controls around 1900 (possibly 1905) because of an influx of Russians and Eastern Jews. Wartime condition will most likely increase that fear. edit: immigration controls ofc
  5. The March of Time - 20th Century History

"Our glorious march on Kristiania was thwarted by foreign agitators that has infiltrated and mislead our Swedish workers. No, it was not stopped by our dismal diplomatic performance, no!" (Fear of Russian migrants was very strong within the army and establishment, "sågfilare" and Jewish...

I fear a stab-in-the-back myth building up here. Norwegian partisans?

With the German-Soviet border being so porous I would be very surprised if the USSR has not inserted a lot of agents into Germany proper who are able to give fairly detailed reports of the French/British progress.

Haha! :) (also unintentional suicide incoming? most likely not, but still.)
  9. What actors/celebrities would you save from an early death and why?

I would really liked to see Barbara Loden live longer. An actress turned director who directed just one full length production, Wanda, in which she stared the protagonist. I'm deeply saddened that her fantastic debut was not followed up before the cancer took her life. I think she could've made...

I very much doubt it. It will more likely be a great partner for technical expertise, and to some extent training. Depending on how USSR acts these alliances might very well merge.

I'm not so sure how much faster the Entente is willing to march while the Poles dies. Some very minor winter offensives perhaps to keep Germany on their heels. If, the Soviet gets acting quick enough the Entente might be more prepared to increase their losses.

Equating the New Deal, Soviet´s Five-Years plan and the nazi economic system greatly misrepresents all three. The New Deal aimed at alleviating the ills of capitalism and yet retain the system. The Soviet system was first and foremost aimed at heavy industrialization, but included ideas of...

On that note, I wonder how the Danish government will react to the radio broadcast and the events in Berlin.
  15. The March of Time - 20th Century History

Hmm, I'm not too well-versed in Swedish emigration, but as I understand it the loyalty to the Swedish state was quite low in emigrated communities. Many of them emigrated during the famines of the 1860's and would by the time of this war been quite embedded in a republican culture with low...

more or less, yes. the deep divergences from OTL happens in thread I. I guess you could skim it and still get the gist of it. Searching the thread for posts by pdf27 makes it much easier adn quicker to read though.

Death sentence for a generation. I wouldn't be surprised.
  19. A Blunted Sickle - Thread II

My take is that the goal for Romania is not to have Italian troops beat an invading USSR army, but rather through the Italian entanglement force a potential conflict to be a outdrawn European conflict. A conflict in which Germany (no chance!) or the Entente might be drawn into. If Italy wasn't...
  20. The carpenters

I would think it wouldn't butterfly it away. Haynes had a lot of skill and I think it would be able to direct some small budget independent movies and probably propell into bigger stuff. As for Karen, I think she would withdraw, she would need to in order to survive. If lucky she would...
