"It has been widely reported that a missing person report has been issued by Soviet Embassy for Zalgiris center Arvydas Sabonis, with belief that the Lithuanian star might have defected to America. A key contributor to the USSR's gold medal at the past month's Olympic games, Sabonis was selected by Blazers in the 1986 Draft but was denied permission to play in the US by Soviet Authorities. The Blazers have refused to comment on these rumors."
