Originally started off as a successful Kingdom of Tuscany-Florence ruled by the de'Medici family, which managed to unify Northern Italy and establish colonies in Africa. Then somehow turned into a 'What if George Washington didn't exist,' until becoming a general monarchies survive until the present day scenario. ITTL, colonies have been rebranded as Alliance Countries (not to be confused with allied countries. They are still sworn to their motherland, but have a degree of self-governance in according to the king's/queen's laws). Even though there was a Scramble for Africa, it wasn't as hard and heavy as OTL, and most of these borders depict range of control. Since the United Kingdom maintained its focus in North America, Australia wasn't as important and remained relatively unknown until the Dutch settled in. There have been a few wars. The Tsar has made some poor decision and has been bogged down in guerrila warfare in his southern ambitions, allowing Japan and and a breakaway Finland to take lands. The Holy Roman Empire evolved into the Holy Roman Alliance, and runs as a pseudo-confederation/European Union type ordeal.
Some outlandish ideas, other ideas I don't have a good grasp on. Probably some ASB stuff thrown in there for good measure.
