DBWI: What if hitler was evil?

As we all know, the National Socialist party within the Weimar Republic, as founded by the Great War veteran Adolf Hitler is well renowned for having implemented several positive social reforms, a few even years before many other important western nations at the time. Examples being:
  • Racial/gender equality and acceptance.
  • Freedom of speech and expression
  • Promotion of scientific research (notable example being the successful pursuit of atomic energy based off the famous Jewish Scientist Albert Einstein's theory of mass-energy equivalence)
  • Pursuits for world peace, Adolf Hitler was granted the Nobel Peace Prize in 1938 after having negotiated a peaceful resolution during the 1937 Sino-Japanese Crisis, preventing a potentially bloody war.
  • Abolishment of slavery in Africa.
  • Dedication to the preservation of Germany's natural environment setting an example to the rest of the western world.
But what if Hitler's ideology was radically different? What if instead of being on the same moral page as Gandhi, what if he was at an equal level or somehow even worse than Josef Stalin?
How different would things have to be?

OOC: I like the concept of DBWI's and wanted to start my own. Apologies though if the person in queation is too controversial though.

If it was father hadn't pulled a knife on his mother young Adolf wouldn't have shot him dead. A man was an abusive lout, there's no doubt he would have continued beating young Adolf and his mother, a few concussions plus the psychological damage of being in that sort of environment at an early age could have radically altered his personality.
Besides his political genius Adolf Hitler was considered one of the greatest painters of all time, a self portrait from the Munich years recently sold for 150 million dollars.
This brings up an interesting observation from Hitler's mother, his father did give him a severe blow to The Head right before he shot him.His mother remarked that he became more focused and less emotional after that.

He was arguably a great landscape painter, his ability to paint people was more hit or miss.
Ah yes.

Ernest Thalmann was happy with his. But the Von Hindenburgs (Paul and Oscar) spent the rest of their lives filing frivolous lawsuits demanding refunds for their portraits.

His main talent seems to have been in architectural design, though he never really developed it to a high degree. It's a shame, I've seen photos of a little church he designed; it's somehow both futuristic and neoclassical at once.

His praise of the Heer and its commanders following the repulse of the Soviet invasion is considered one of the greatest speeches of that century. He always gave credit where credit was due. The brief war was itself a marvel of military advancement. The use of Panzers was the easiest to publicize, but the coordination of military trains and truck convoys to rush supplies and men to the front was what brought about Second Tannenberg. The massed infantry of the Soviets surrendered by the hundreds of thousands!

The only thing I can imagine being worse than an evil Hitler is an evil Hitler in league with Stalin - those two, together, may not have stopped until they ruled from the English Channel to the mouth of the Ganges.

OOC: This is my first DBWI and I love the idea. Cheers :)

IC: In his autobiography, Hitler discusses how his opposition to the First World War, and his participation in the global anti-war movement and the anti-draft movement in Germany and Austria, was important for his political education. It was during the First World War that he left Austria-Hungary for Germany, where he would continue to organise Leftist groups across the Central Powers and then eventually the Entente. I suppose you could have Hitler stay in Austria, and take up the cause of Austro-Hungarian Habsburg loyalism instead of Leftism as an answer to nationalism and nationalist chauvinism, which he saw as the main causes of the war. I don't know if you can make Hitler a national chauvinist, though, without an ASB. You'd need a radically different upbringing for such a committed internationalist.

It's kinda surprising how he managed to get people from across different parts of the world, each with their own different cultures to work together for the betterment of humanity. He was one of the main proponents of the Non-Aligned Movement along with Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru & Yugoslav President Josip Tito. This created a layer of buffer countries between the 'western' capitalistic democracies and the 'eastern' communist autocracies.

Well, there you go. Have his undoubted talent for oratory turned to evil means. How you go about that, I haven’t the foggiest (all this ‘bump on the head’ stuff seems a bit fanciful to change the character of a man, IMHO). “Evil Hitler” giving speaches in the cause (what, the DNVP?) and elevating a fringe “volk” party to power would seem like a good TL, but I just can’t see it.

I simply cannot imagine Hitler doing anything inhumane, unless it was towards animals. Guy hated animals. I doubt the British or French would allow a deranged, expansionist, Stalinesque type on their border, especially in Germany. The Germans had a meager army of 100,000 and no airforce, so the French could practically stroll into Berlin.

Well... before Hitler's National Socialists there was another, more conservative, more strongly nationalist party. If Hitler's upbringing was more painful for him, if he'd fought for the Germans in WWI, he might marry nationalism to Social Darwinism.

My mind is still boggled how he managed to abolish slavery in Africa after Germany lost all her colonies there, really quite the negotiator he was.

However it's not wholly correct to say he wasn't evil, he did put vegetarians in death camps after all.

They weren't really "Death" camps

Then maybe the centre right is not seen as the Civil Rights champions across the world like in our timeline

Maybe Communism is not as hated either
