On-scedule Ice Age ?

Today, I came across this on the BBC:

Basicically, todays best estimate is that the current interglacial period was due to end within about 1 500 years, and Earth return to its Ice Age setting. But carbon dioxide emissions are throwing that off.

Can we put off the industrial revolution with any kind of reasonable PoD?
Preferably something after the rise of the Roman Empire or so, to keep the butterflies from growing too large.

If we put it off by 1 500 years, the Ice Age slides in on a high medieval tech or so setting...
